Humorist Jean Shepherd’s memoir of growing up in the midwest in the 40s follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker in his quest for a genuine Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas. Winter Solstice Celebration
Annual Lighting of the Cemetery in Kaleva. Hundreds of luminaries are placed on graves in the Kaleva cemetery to honor loved ones. Meet at 4pm at 14701 Metsola Ave. to help with the luminaries. Soup supper and short program follow at 5:30pm at Bethany Lutheran Church, Kaleva.
